I don’t even know how to express in words how grateful I am for Sherwood veterinary clinic. We woke up this morning to our little cockapoo, Russell, throwing up blood. In a panic, I called my usual clinic to get him in, and shockingly they claimed they had no appointments available (even though this was an emergency in my mind). We called Sherwood Vet based on positive reviews on situations like this and they told us to bring him in right away.
The incredible experience started from the moment we walked in. The front end staff was so friendly and calming. We immediately got into a room where Dr. Bishay walked us through the different possible scenarios. He was honest, compassionate, supportive and thorough. We felt we were presented with our best course of actions based on the information we presented and based on how Russell appeared. At no time did we feel they were trying to upcharge us on testing, he made us feel very comfortable in choosing what plan worked for us. We decided to get bloodwork AND an X-ray to be safe, and he was so empathetic when sharing the results and an action plan to get our boy back to good health. I couldn’t believe how well all the staff took care of our fur baby. I could tell based on Russell’s body language that even he was comfortable throughout all the testing.
Both my husband and I are so blessed and thankful for this experience. We felt so supported, informed and well taken care of from start to finish. Not to mention, the prices are so affordable and competitive.

My dog was throwing up over several days, took him to our regular vet and they did some tests and kept him for the day on IV. They told us he was probably just sick and needed some time on meds, but he would be ok.

A day and a half later he still wasn't ok. He wouldn't eat or drink. He was much worse and I feel he was very close to dying.

We took him here because they were open Sunday and our boy needed immediate attention. They got him in at the end of the day and Dr. Matta could tell right away there was a blockage.

Dr. Matta and his assistant Emily stayed late to get the blockage out. It didn't look good, but they did everything they could. They stayed very late after the surgery to make sure he would wake up. Which he eventually did hours later (phew).

We took him home for the night and over the next few days we would bring him back for IV treatment at the clinic. We honestly didn't think he would make it, even after the surgery, we thought we were too late.

But then one morning, after we had pretty much given up, he took a turn and started eating! He is still recovering, but we are feeling very good.

Couldn't thank Dr. Matta and his team enough. They were able to identify the issue quickly and put in the extra time and effort needed to save our pup. Even if he didn't pull through, we know they did everything they could.

My regular vet was closed, but Dr. Bishay and his team took me in on a weekend as a walk-in for an x-ray and gave me great follow-up advice for a very reasonable price. They do it all - routine exams, x-rays and surgery. Definitely considering making this my regular vet.

We had to bring Bailey (13 year old Rat Terrier) here due to severe bloody diarrhea a few weeks ago. We cannot believe how amazing this vet is!

Dr. Matta was really great to deal with and was able to see us the same day. He prescribed her some meds which did help, but after the course of meds was up she starting vomiting almost uncontrollably. We saw the other vet at the clinic who did some more diagnostics but we weren’t able to get a clear diagnosis without an ultrasound which we opted out of due to Bailey’s age and health. Bailey was very sick and looked like she was almost dead already.

Our family had began discussing the final visit (cancer is/was suspected) when Bailey had made a miraculous recovery the very next day. I don’t know if the medication was a game changer for Bailey, or if it was our desperation that saved her life. Regardless, we’ve been meaning to give the clinic a call and let them know how great she’s been doing! We will also be calling the clinic in the near future to book our other dog in so they can both be patients at this clinic.

My vet was closed for the day so I gave them a call! Did not book an appointment, am holding out till tomorrow to see our regular vet, but they were SO helpful over the phone. The women I spoke to didn’t rush me off the phone, answered my questions, explained what they could/would do and why. She left me with some very clear and helpful instructions. So incredibly thankful for the phone call. If I can’t book in with my regular vet, I’ll be booking an appointment here! Save yourself some tears, don’t google for too long, just call these guys for help!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. HANNA BISHAY and his Clinic staff in regards to our cats care.  Dr.Bishay was not only able to diagnose him quickly he took the time and showed genuine compassion and concern in trying to discover why our cat had developed to this issue. A quick diagnosis and application of appropriate treatment resulted in much faster and better than average healing. Care was and is obviously their main focus, Dr. Bishay asked we return in a week, at no charge to be able to examine and ensure his treatment was working appropriately. He educated us and were able to keep out other cats safe and unaffected.  Staff also provided  courteous follow-up calls during his treatment to ensure things were going smoothly and we had no concerns.   If your animals are your family I strongly recommend Dr. HANNA BISHAY to provide your Medical and other veterinary needs.

Love this place and the veterinarians! My dog had an emergency surgery and we had to get ahold of vet clinics the quickest that we could since it was on a Saturday. Luckily they were opened until 5pm, where tons were closed. My pup had broke his hip due to a soft bone that wasn’t properly developed at birth, something we would have NEVER seen! They ran xrays immediately after asking us and were very helpful! They kept us calm and made us feel at home for the situation. The prices were very fair. They even gave us the option to look around at other vets incase we were unsure. They showed you all the good and all the bad and will not hide anything from you. They guarentee the love and care they will give your animal whether it’s for a minute or for a night or two. They treated my pup like their own and continued to say that we were like family now. I HIGHLY recommend sherwood vet! My baby is all done his surgery today, at home resting and will continue rehad after a week or two to regain his strength!! I am VERY THANKFUL for them!

Where to start! This vet is fantastic, like Dr. Hanna Bishay said “this place is like a family not like a vet” and it completely shows. They are in this for the animals. We have been here more then once for our little Frenchie and they have gone up and beyond for her. They did two surgery’s on her eyes that were flawless and unfortunately stitches for bite marks and smaller tests as well. He gave us an amazing price and was very understanding to our situations on our multiple visits we had to come in for and I honestly wouldn’t bring her anywhere else. They have gotten us in everytime we have had an issue with our pup with no hesitation. Thank you so much, you guys are an amazing team!

We walked in off the street with our two dogs after receiving a very high dental estimate from our previous clinic of ten years. The receptionist was very caring to my upset state. Dr. Bishay saw us immediately, did a free examination of both the dogs mouths and gave us a very reasonable estimate. I truly appreciated the information provided, his honesty and the very precise rundown of my estimate. The final cost for my dogs' dental surgery was half the price of what my previous vet had estimated. We will definitely be recommending this clinic and won't take our dogs anywhere else. My cat got attacked by a dog or a coyote on her neck - it was 7:50 PM or so and they closed at 8 PM but they accommodated me despite this. I kept them over an hour after their regular close and they were kind the whole time and made sure my kitty was going to be okay.

Toby has been coming here since he was 10 weeks old, we brought him in as a skinny malnourished pup from Kijiji with parasites and mild mange and he flourished thanks to Dr. Hanna Bishay and his staff. Toby is about a year and a half now and is the best dog we could've ever wanted. He loves his annual visits and check ins. All of the staff treat your animals like family and are happy to answer whatever questions you have.

You can tell Toby has had great experiences there as his tail is thumping the whole drive and he basically drags you through the front door to see everyone!

It was meant to be when my original vet couldn't take in our 1 year old Bugg and we had to find another vet. I am so glad this happened! We have found the perfect vet, Dr. Matta, and I am changing from my old vet to him. If you want your dog to be treated like a king or queen then you have to come here. Sherwood Vet is the best, most professional, friendly vet's office I have ever been to. The staff treat you as if you had brought in one of your own children and care not only for your animal but you as well. They really love animals and care for them, but they also care about you, personally and financially. They saved us an emergency trip to an emergency vet hospital that would have could us many thousands of dollars! They even started the surgery for our dog that night, even though they were closed for the night. Dr. Matta and his assistants stayed to do the surgery and post-op and didn't leave until 2am!!!! Now, would your current vet do that without charging you over time and emergency fees??? The clinic didn't! So I very strongly suggest you try this clinic, and I can guarantee, you will be over the moon. We were! LOVE THIS CLINIC AND THE STAFF <3 A million thank you's to Dr. Matta and Alysia <3

I highly recommend this place, i called last minute because my dog was sick and needed to be seen got in within 2 hours , he got testing and medication our total came to $200 so affordable prices especially for around Edmonton. Dr. Abel matta walked us through the pros and cons to each treatment option never pressured for unnecessary treatment for money purposes , he answered all our questions which took about an hour and he never once rushed us.

My Husband and I took our 6 year old Dachshund to Dr. Bishay for a second opinion for IVDD after her previous vet gave us 3 days worth of medication to take her home and say good bye to her. We were not willing to give up on her and nor was Dr. Bishay. We opted for conservative treatment and medication. 6 weeks after our appointment our Harley Girl had regained mobility. To us this was nothing short of a miracle.
Harley has always had complex health issues, that started when she for her first round of immunizations and having an allergic reaction. We have battled demodetic mange for years. The vet we were seeing prescribed Ivomectin which is a livestock drug, it was incredibly hard on Harley and we hated giving it to her for 8 weeks at a time.   Several more times over the past few years that was the only treatment option we were given, other than euthanize her.  We noticed the more Ivomectin she was given she started to loose hind leg function and we would stop the Ivomectin, her mobility came back. The previous vet said there was no correlation to the paralysis and Ivomectin, but to us it seemed that it was more than a coincidence.
 
Once Harley had over come and healed from her IVDD we had taken her back to Dr. Bishay and his team to once again fight the mange monster. Dr. Bishay would not entertain giving Harley more Ivermectin, and gave us another treatment option, of one medicated treat every 8 weeks. At this point we would try anything. Harley had lost almost all of her fur on her back and was itchy all the time. The first week I was skeptical, but the itching and scratching slowly lessened. Her fur started to grow back, she had more energy and was playful again. IT WORKED!  Last weekend we saw Dr. Bishay again and she got another round if medication  to ensure the demodex is gone

Harley is back to her regular playful self, chasing bunnies and being active, the best part is no more itchies, her coat is growing back in, and she is healthy.

Dr. Bishay and his team have always treated us and Harley with kindness and respect. After seeing 2 other vets through Harley's life time and not getting the results we needed or euthanasia as a treatment option , we will never take Harley to another vet. Dr. Bishay genuinely cares for the animals he sees. He knows they are a part of peoples families, not just dollar signs.  Dr.Bishay has the best Assistants and Techs, from the time you walk in the clinic you are treated with kindness and respect.  The clinic is also impeccably clean and sanitized.

Thank you Dr. Bishay for not giving up on Harley, we look forward to a long healthy life with her.  My only regret is we didn't find you sooner.

Always quick and easy to get in and the veterinarians I have dealt with a great. This is where we bring our cats now every time we can. The only downside is that it’s a little pricey but all Sherwood Park vets tend to be.

Edit: We had to put out poor kitty down last summer. The vets were as kind as they could be during those tough times and even sent us a condolence card afterwards. Would definitely recommend them as they went above and beyond during those tough times.

I will be forever grateful for the care and treatment I recieved since I started going to this clinic. In the last month up until we had to put my Dog down I was able to call and make an appt. for the same day and they listened to my concerns, and helped me as much as possible to make my old girls limited time as comfortable as possible. I have seen both Vets and they both explained what they were thinkng was wrong with her as well as outlined my options and costs. When I had to finally make the dreaded appt. I was met at the door by Dr. Matta and he instantly tried to console me and make sure I was ok, The staff all were beyond helpful and in the end I was able to hold my doggy throught the whole process and make her as comfortable as posible in her last moments. Hats off to spectacular service at the SHERWOOD VETERINARY CLINIC on Wye Road and Ridgemont Way. The clinic's staff squeezed me in, even though they did not have availability. Poor Daisy (our Fur baby) had an abscessed-tender anal gland. Daisy should now be on the mend with antibiotics and pain meds. Dr. Matta was extremely busy and tired, due to the late hour and long day, but when he learned Morgan was a nursing student, he took every effort to engage her in the entire process. Quizzing her and bringing out his text book to further illustrate. He was so great!

On the August long weekend, Misha, our dog, was really sick and progressively got worse by the hour. We called the Sherwood Veterinary Clinic late Saturday afternoon explaining her symptoms. Even though we had never been to the clinic, they said to bring her in right away. The doctor suspected a blockage and x-rays were taken. His suspicion was correct, somehow Misha had swallowed a huge, sharp rock which had travelled into her intestines. We were told she had to have emergency surgery or she wouldn't make it. We were given an estimate of the cost which was very reasonable, half the cost of going to an emergency clinic. A team of three doctors and other staff from the clinic stayed after hours and successfully performed the surgery immediately. Dr. Bishay stayed with her all night to care for and monitor her. She had comfortable quarters and was so well looked after. The clinic kept us informed at all times of her condition and encouraged us to visit right after her surgery and the following day. She was able to come home later in the day on Sunday but we had to take her back in on holiday Monday because of complications. Dr. Bishay gave her a shot and took more x-rays free of charge. They helped us out so much! They understood that Misha wasn't just a pet but a member of the family and treated her as such. We are so appreciative and thankful for what they did for us. We will be taking all our pets to this clinic in the future. What an amazing, professional team. We would like to thank all the doctors and staff at the Sherwood Veterinary Clinic for all they did for Misha and our family! We are eternally grateful!

Dr. Bishay and his team went above and beyond to help me when I came home from work to find my dog paralyzed. I felt like I got better then average care, and that they genuinely cared about my dog. Even after referring me to a specialist for the surgery, Dr. Bishay called me to check in to see how Seymour was recovering and how I was doing. I will not take my dogs anywhere else because I believe that It would be very unlikely that I could find the same level of care. Highly recommend.

My cat Mia developed an ear issue that needed surgery. She's my baby girl! And I was worried as a furbaby mom, this Vet clinic made me feel like Mia was in good hands....and she was. I've had to take her back a few times, and not once did they make me feel like a paranoid mom. The treatment is top shelf. I'd recommend this Vet to everyone. Had to have my dogs tooth extracted as it was broken and infected and needed to come out asap along with a teeth cleaning. The previous vet I was going to gave me an outrageous price estimate of $1500
I began calling other clinics and glad I called here They were able to get me in within the hour of calling for a checkup to see what they were dealing with free of charge and able to book the appointment for the extraction a day sooner than the other place.
The staff here are very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Dr. Bishay was amazing he took the time to explain the procedure so I understood everything.
You can tell this man really cares about the animals and is passionate about his work.
I hate leaving my dog at strange places but I felt very comfortable and reassured that she would be taken good care of. Within a few hours she was awake and I had my dopey dog back in my hands with a bright white smile.
They charged me under $600 for everything. Dr. Bishay again explained the whole procedure to me and even pieced the tooth back together for me to see why it had to be broken into 3 pieces.
The following days my dog didn't even seem bothered by the missing tooth. She went on eating and doing everything she does like nothing had even happened.
They asked me to bring her in for a checkup a week later to see how it was healing and it's healing up great. Again this checkup free of charge.

This veterinary clinic is great and I would recommend Dr. Bishay to anyone!

On April 7 Abby, our 7 year old black lab x Sheppard dog waa one sick puppy. Dr Bishay seen us without a prior appointment & immediately after examining her rescheduled his appointments to perform emergency surgery on her. She had pyometra & was potentially hours away from death. Her uterus was ready to rupture. Dr Bishay saved Abby's life. Hard lesson learned .......spay or neutere your pets!

I would strongly recommend Dr Bishay to anyone. He is a very caring & compassionate doctor. He took the time not only to look after our dog but us as I (Kelly) was very upset. We just got home from the 4 day post op checkup & am happy to say Abby is doing very well. We are to return in 7 days now to have her stitches removed. I am confident once that cone is gone she will be the playful 7 year old puppy once again!

Thanks again Dr Bishay. You & your friendly professional staff are the best!!! We will be bringing Abby for any services she may require in the years to come.

Destiny and all of Canine Second Chance Rescue & rehabilitation would like to send their love and thanks to The most amazing Veterinarian Dr Bishay and also to To Dr Matta and their wonderful loving and caring and very skilled staff. Because of them Destiny is alive. She literally was a doggy that was fighting for her life and if these amazing people didn't step forward and fight as hard and as long as they did she would be over the rainbow bridge. Not only did they save her life they were so supportive and caring for us humans as well. It helped us knowing our beloved girl was in loving and capable hands of veterinarians that truly love what they do and are doing it for the right reasons.

Destiny says Dr Bishay will always be her Hero and she can't wait to visit him again just to give him more Pittbull kisses ( the greatest kisses ever).

Have taken my dog Sophie to this Veterinary Clinic a few times now. They all are absolutely amazing, compassionate and kind. You can tell they truly love animals. So greatful to have found these people. They always go above and beyond and the prices are more than reasonable.

My sister and I brought our very insecure submissive 6 month old puppy in to get spayed. We recently found out she had a heart murmur and went to get a second opinion from Dr.Matta about getting the operation. 
Not only did he go above and beyond to make sure our shy little girl comfy and relaxed, he also had a very thorough examination of her. 
He also calmed our worries. He was very informative about what would be happening during the operation. 
Everything went perfectly and our girl is now happy and home.

I would definitely recommend!!

I took my puppy in to Dr.Matta on the recommendation from a friend. My pup had recently been diagnosed with a heart murmur that made her spay surgery high risk. Not only was he wonderful with my high fears and emotions regarding the surgery he also got my insecure scared of men pup to to like him...The surgery was a success and the staff was wonderful I highly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Bishay has been excellent over the last week. Last Saturday it was determined that my dog had an intestinal blockage and even though we knew what had to be done we were unable to find a vet willing or able to the emergency surgery that was needed to save her life. We were recommended to go and see Dr. Bishay and luckily we did as she was on the brink of death as he had to removed 1.5 ft of intestine. He was so helpful and ran out to the car to even carry her in. After surgery he let me come and see her and spend some much needed time with her and was in no rush for me to leave even though they were closed. That night he went back and checked on her 3 times to make sure she was still doing okay. A week later and we just had her post op visit and she is 100% back to her old self and I'm so happy that I have my best friend still by my side. Needless to say my entire family is switching over to Sherwood Veterinary Clinic.

Our Cocker Spaniel Bruno had a severe infection that had gone unnoticed due to his shaggy fur....his collar had dug in too tight around his throat and had caused deep abrasions and cuts that had become severely infected....oozing pus and smelled horrible. We used to use a different vet clinic, but since this one was only a 1 minute drive from our house we gave it a try. The Doctor (from Egypt) was very kind to our dog, and was sympathetic to the fact we were leaving on a two-week holiday in a few days and with Christmas approaching we were tight for dollars. He came up with a more than reasonable price for the services needed, and surprised us when we returned after the surgery on Bruno's throat and noticed he had gone above and beyond in what he did for Bruno. I felt I got a little price 'gouged' at the other Vet we went to, so we are likely now loyal clients of Sherwood Vet Clinic :-) Great honest service.

Dr. Bishay Did a fabulous job on our little kitten Olive, she went in to be spayed and declawed and we picked her up same day and that night she was running around like nothing had happened. We tried to keep her in the kitchen as we didn't want her straining anything or having sore feet but that didn't stop her she was up on the bar stools and playing with all of her toys. All I can say is he did a fantastic job because our little kitty had no pain she was her usual self right away! I'd highly recommend him and his prices are reasonable.

We took our dog Murphy here with an eye issue on a Sunday and they took us in even though they were about to close. He had many rechecks and was not charged for each one. His eye is all better now and Murphy says he likes the treats at this clinic!

Called on a Sunday at 4:30 pm half hour before closing with a problem with our 7 month old beagle cross, Banjo. We were told to bring him down by Vet Tech Jen. We got there 5;10 pm and Dr Matta and Jen looked at him, did x rays and told us he had a foreign object blocking his intestine and needed surgery. That evening Dr. Bishay had to be called in to perform the emergency surgery. They finally left the clinic around 11:00 Sunday night.

We were able to go and pick up our dog the next evening and so far he seems to be doing very well. What an amazing experience. The vet tech that was there, Tammy, explained in great detail all the medications Banjo would be on. We, as complete strangers, were treated as if we had been going there for ever, you could tell they were not just in it for the money that they genuinely cared for the dogs well being. They saved our dogs life. I would recommend them to anyone in the area, an experience I will never forget. Thank you to everyone at the clinic.--Amy, Malcolm, Gayle and Banjo

I took my kitty Ophelia into the Sherwood veterinary clinic when she was in terrible crisis, mastitis took a turn for the worst and no one would help us! We were welcomed with loving caring arms and they took such great care of my girl! They saved her life and made her feel safe and comfortable every time we came in for check ups! Sherwood Vet took great care of my dog Cocoa. My groomer noticed that my dog was straining to urinate and it was darker then usual. The clinic got me an appointment quickly. Very quickly after seeing Cocoa Dr Bishay suggested X-rays and I'm happy I had them, she had one very large and some smaller ones. He got her into surgery in. Few days and even did X-rays after to make sure the stones were all removed.

The clinic called me mid day to see if I wanted to see her but kept her all day. By the next day she wanted to run and play (which I couldn't let her)

Even following up Cocoa loved going there. They encourage their patients to come and drop in even for a treat and to say hi.

I incredibly greatful for the treatment from Dr. Bishay, Tammy, Kelly and Jen. My little girl is like a new dog again!

I can't say that I know anyone who looks forward to taking their pet to the vet but there had been a noticeable change in the demeanor of our senior cat over the past few days. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Harley this afternoon who had been part of our family for 10 years.

Dr Matta, Tammy and Kelly were nothing short of amazing in their care and compassion. Dr Matta took the time to explain test results and X-rays in great detail as well as what our options were.

We would highly recommend the team at Sherwood Park Vet Clinic...they truly care.

Staff at the clinic were very friendly and helpful. They were excellent with my senior cat who is terrified of leaving the house. Dr. Bishay was very honest, knowledgable, and straight forward. He made it very clear that any time I have any questions, I can come in or give them a call, and that there are no silly questions. The great hours of the clinic are definitely a bonus. I would absolutely recommend Sherwood Vetrinary Clinic. I will definitely continue to take my fur family members there.

I've visited the vet clinic a few times since they have opened and every experience there has been awesome. The price is very fair and the staff are willing to work with you and your animal for the best treatment option. I have moved all my dogs from the old vet over to this veterinary clinic. Today took our cat Garfield to emergency at Sherwood Veterinary and was so impressed at the great care we received. Dr. Adel Matta and staff was great with Garfield. Were there 2 hours and felt really good for the care, thank you so much. I would recommend anyone who is looking for good care for their pet to try them, we had such a great experience that this is now Garfield's new vet!

Great experience! Our dog, who hates men & bites at every opportunity, had blood work done and a complete exam. The vet was very gentle and thorough. Our dog responded very well to him and we were really pleased with the fact that he listened to everything we said and spent the time to try to get to the root of the problem. Jennifer, the vet tech was excellent as well. Overall, great service and very knowledgable! We'll be back!

I have never had such amazing service from a vet clinic. The Dr. and the staff truly care about the animals and their families. This clinic rescued our cat and treated our baby with a level of care that I thought only a family could give. Any animal would be lucky to have this clinic look after their needs.
